MIT MS & HS: Dress Code and Griffin Day

Posted Date: 07/13/26 (05:53 PM)

Dear MIT Middle and High School Scholars and Families,

May this message find you enjoying the summer sun.

As we head into the middle of summer break, we are also preparing for the 2026-2027 school year. You will be receiving more information as we get closer to the first day of school, Monday, August 17, 2026. At this time, we would like to bring your attention to two important items.

DRESS CODE. During your summer shopping, we encourage you to purchase clothing that meets our school's dress code requirements to help your student be ready for the first day of school. Plan for success by reviewing the attached dress code flyer before making your back-to-school purchases. The information is also available on this webpage: https://mitams.gtaschools.org/37980_2. Please note that we will be consolidating the middle and high school websites.

GRIFFIN DAY. All families will receive a letter and forms via USPS this month. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. During the event, students will complete the following checklist:

  • ID/Yearbook Photo: Take their ID/yearbook picture without being in dress code.

  • Required Forms: Turn in the required forms to get 1 free school polo and 1 free logo patch.

  • Technology Access: Turn in the Technology and Acceptable Use Policy form and pick up a Chromebook.

Additionally, MIT merchandise is available for purchase at a discounted Griffin Day price. Please note that we accept cash or check only for purchases.

  • Polo with embroidered logo: On sale for $15 (Regular price: $20).

  • Zip-up hoodie:  On sale for $30 (Regular price: $40)

To help minimize your wait time, please arrive during your designated, staggered grade-level time slot. We encourage siblings to attend together at the same time slot.

  • Grades 6 & 8: 12:00 - 2:00 PM

  • Grades 9 & 10: 2:00 - 3:30 PM

  • Grades 11 and 12: 3:30 - 5:00 PM

  • All Grades: 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Enjoy the summer. We will stay in touch with you via ParentSquare.
