Core Values

Mare Island Technology Academy is a public charter school whose charter renewal depends on many factors with academic achievement as measured by state and local assessments as key indicators. Hence, it takes all of us working together to achieve these high expectations:

MITA MS BOLD GOALS

  • 100% of students pass their courses with a grade of “C” or better
  • 100% of students maintain at least a 96% attendance rate
  • 100% parent engagement with Aeries to monitor student progress

When you CHOOSE MITA MS, you are committing to our school policies and core values for a disruption-free learning environment for all students to meet the high expectations set by the MITA MS community. Every stakeholder (parent, student, or educator) is a teacher. In our role as a teacher, we shall uphold the following Teacher Creed:

  • As your teacher, I will not allow you to do anything that is not in your best interest or in the best interest of Mare Island Technology Academy.
  • As your teacher, I will not allow you to stop anyone from learning for any reason whatsoever.
  • As your teacher, I will not allow you to keep me from teaching for any reason whatsoever.

The freedom to choose comes with a great responsibility to uphold the ideals of MITA MS so that it is the first choice of Vallejo families seeking a free public education. It takes all of us practicing and living our core values to SOAR to success: Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect.
