Mare Island Technology Academy was founded to give families a voice and choice to select an educational environment that aligns with their goals and vision. We are openly transparent about our programs and our expectations of all stakeholders (staff, parents, and students). Hence, when a student and/or family chooses to be a member of the MITA MS family, you are committing to adhering to the dress code policy. Donning the appropriate school attire promotes unity, builds cohesiveness, creates a sense of belonging, and supports our work at maintaining a safe and disruption-free learning environment. You are making a commitment to be on Team MITA MS. It shows a certain level of coachability. So, dress for success!
The dress code consists of:
Families may find dress code items at their local clothing stores: examples include Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Ross, Marshalls, JCPenney, Vallejo Victory Store (you will receive a free patch with purchase), Costco, online. MIT/MI Patches: Patches may be purchased at the school office for $1.00. They are also available for purchase during Griffin Days in August. They are designed to be heat-adhesive with an iron, but many families prefer to have theirs sewn on, as they may come loose after a number of washings. For families who need assistance in obtaining the dress code, they can check the Clothing Exchange to select gently-used pants and polos in the main office (yes, we take donations as well!).
