MITA (MS & HS): Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4 - 8, 2026)

Posted Date: 05/03/26 (10:18 PM)

Dear MITA Community,

Teachers are foundational to the success of our students academically, socially, and emotionally. We all have at least one teacher who has profoundly impacted our lives. We will continue to add to our list of influential teachers, whether we are 9 or 99 years old. We are so grateful for the relentless effort of teachers to positively impact the lives of students. We kindly ask for your help in showering our educators with gratitude during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4 - May 8, 2026. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, is National Day of the Teacher.

In partnership,

Lai Saeteurn, Director of Schools

Ernst Louis-Jacques, MIT HS Site Director

Liz Saldana, MIT MS Site Director

Monday, May 4, 2026: Mindful Monday

Show up and be present. Stay calm and Monday on. Give your teachers a disruption-free classroom. Show your appreciation with a smile and kind words.

Tuesday, May 5, 2026: Treats and Tea

We welcome families to bring baked goods or individually wrapped treats and snacks. We will place them in the staff lounge. Drop off items at the school office.

Wednesday, May 6, 2026: Write It Out

Write your teachers a wonderful note of gratitude and appreciation.

Thursday, May 7, 2026: Tapas and Tiffin Potluck

Teachers give it their all every day. Collaborate with the school to thank our teachers with a lunch. Drop off food (main dish, side dish, dessert, or drink) at the office.

Friday, May 8, 2026: Flex It!

Surprise your teachers with extraordinary politeness, positivity, or a small token of appreciation (e.g., a coffee gift card).
